Welcome to Seal-ebrities! Our kids and parents are the best, in and out of the pool, and we want all the Seals to know about it. The Seal-ebrities page will be for congratulations to our swimmers. If you see or hear about a Seal who should be applauded for an honor at school or in the community or on the soccer field or maybe even in the POOL, then send an email to sealebrities@summityseals.org with a link or note telling us where the information can be found. We will post it here!

| Alex Ingerman is a Seal-ebrity! Alex won the 5th and 6th grade division of the New Jersey Regional S.I.T.E. (Student Inventions Through Education) competition, held at the Rutgers University Eco-Complex in Bordentown, NJ. Alex was awarded 1st place by a panel of judges for his "Not a Knot" invention--a device that can be attached to any MP3 case, allowing users to keep their earbud cords neat and tidy. Now, that's something EVERY swimmer can use at meets! Great job Alex! |
| Kirby Voigtman is a Seal-ebrity! Kirby was the Summit High School 10th grade winner of the American Mathematics Competition, which took place at SHS on February 12. 67 SHS students took part in the competition, which was sponsored by 16 professional societies and which drew participation from 5,000 schools across the US. Congratulations to Kirby! Great job! |
| Dennis Burke is a Seal-ebrity! Dennis Burke has been named the NJSIAA Scholar-Athlete at Seton Hall Prep for 2008. All NJ High Schools can name ONLY one girl and one boy (or just one boy in the case of Seton Hall). This is a fabulous honor for Dennis and all of the Seals are very proud of his work in the classroom as well as in the pool! |
| Tasha Kewalramani is a Seal-ebrity! Congratulations to Tasha and the rest of the Summit Middle School Girls basketball team on their undefeated season! As published in the Independent Press: "The 2007-2008 Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School Girls Basketball Team finished its season undefeted with a 15-0 record. In the first two games of the year, the girls avenged their only two losses from the previous year, to Middlesex and Roxbury, by a combined score of 95-51. The SMS team averaged 45 points per game, surrendering an average 18 points per game. The team's margin of victory was 27 points per game. Their hard work and determination paid off in the second to last game of the season, when the team overcame a 17-4 first quarter deficit to go on and win 53-43 against Montclair Kimberly Academy." Way to show your stuff both in AND out of the pool! |

|
| Julia Benson, spotted in the Big Apple. The paparazzi recently caught a glimpse of Julia Benson demonstrating her grace on the ice in New York City. Was she cross-training for a big meet? Considering a change of sport from warm-weather to cold-weather? Taking in some last breaths of crisp winter air before her move to the sunny and warm rolling hills of Virginia? Whatever the case, the Seals were glad to get another glimpse of her before her move. We're going to miss you, Julia! |

Congratulations to Carey Fries!
Carey set a Summit High School swim team record in the 200 Freestyle during their meet on December 4 against Parsippany Hills, breaking the old record of 2:02.90 that had previously stood for 18 years! Great job, Carey! The Seals are very proud of you! |
